qbittorrent-nox is my go-to. No need for a desktop UI, just give me the web-ui. That’s all I use anyway, and I can manage it from my phone wherever I am.
I’m just some guy, you know.

Yeah, with that many users you need like $30/month on AWS…
The guy who set it up probably quit, and nobody knows how it works now.
The prohibition on public exposure of breasts by women and girls over 10 years old is now gone from the city code as of this week.
I never thought I’d be conflicted on this, because I am absolutely of the opinion that female breasts and nipples shouldn’t be treated as exclusively sexual body parts, especially since men have them too and we aren’t held to that standard.
But being confronted with the idea that 10-17 year old girls can now bare their breasts in public without restraint reminds me that treating female bodies as non-sexual is great as an ethos, but it is not reflective of reality, and that this specifically could be problematic.
But how to solve it? You can’t make it an 18+ only rule, or you’re further entrenching the idea that female breasts are exclusively sexual and adult, but if you let teens and tweens go topless, they will be sexualized / ogled / photographed by adult men, and that’s a bad precedent to set as acceptable. We usually treat photographs of underage female breasts as a form of CSAM, but can we still say that if we’re treating female breasts as non-sexual? This is an interesting new line to draw, given societal attitudes on adolescent nudity.
Regretfully, I believe that the true problem is men. The reason women have to cover their breasts is because they have to protect themselves from men. I’m all for bodily liberation and the de-sexualization of female existence, but we need an overhaul on our society’s attitudes towards women in general if we’re going to get there. Maybe bare breasts help get us there. Maybe girls need to learn the right way how to kick a man in the balls before they go topless.
it blows my mind how one person can do it.
One person can’t do it. When you’re making FOSS you’re standing on the shoulders of giants. Most of the code that makes up this app wasn’t coded by the developer of this app. Also, there are multiple people committing code to this repository, so it literally isn’t just one guy developing this app specifically.
I’m gonna assume you’re just a really sad person who hates everyone, and this comment is off-topic, because there’s no way you’re in the Piracy community complaining about a Nintendo leak.
Anyone who wants to fix this can help fix it, but people are just making demands of an unpaid maintainer. The devs can run this project the way they want to. If you don’t like it, don’t use Ventoy.
The people comparing this to the xz exploit are out of line. xz was a library that was deeply embedded in a lot of software. Ventoy is an IT tool used to boot live OSes. Not even remotely the same attack surface.
Blobs in the source tree are not ideal, but people need to pick their battles.
Is the solution to male loneliness ripping your father’s shrieking soul from the depths of the underworld and crudely resurrecting him in defiance of God’s will?
If that’s the extent of their differences, then they aren’t very different…
Future product plans include ability to link multiple units together to create a synchronized play session with multiple users.
This is like when Republicans complain that Biden detained record numbers of border-crossers, and I’m like “Isn’t that what you guys want him to do?”.
I suspect that this was something of a test case, with the regulator flexing their censorship muscle, and I’m glad it didn’t work out.
This was a POV stabbing video that people spread around to glorify violence. It’s in the same category as beheading videos.
America may have decided that child porn is the only media exception to free speech, but other more sane countries draw the line a little bit more broadly to include all forms of extremely violent crime filmed to be glorified, including things like murder, attempted murder, torture, and the rape of adults.
If you want to operate a business in places like Australia or New Zealand, you cannot be distributing violent gore videos within their borders.
I hope they revisit this as X users are pretty routinely celebrating things like the Christchurch shooting and other violent extremist incidents. Sometimes censorship makes sense, and when people are antagonistically spreading videos of people being maimed and killed, the “free speech” argument absolutely doesn’t fucking cut it.
Not well versed in bird law, eh?
Yeah, it works, but it’s really quite clunky…
Tl;Dr: Sharing Nude scenes out-of-context are considered a form of involuntary pornography in Denmark (portraying artistic nudity as pornography) and this man was arrested for compiling and sharing nude scenes of Danish actors from Danish films and sharing them while inside Denmark…
This has nothing to do with film studio profits or piracy, this is a man who ran afowl of his home country’s laws about pornography.
And to be fair, a woman appearing nude in a film doesn’t mean that sexualizing the shit out of her publicly isn’t scummy fucked up behavior. I think I understand the law here.
The issue is that the digital tap-to-pay cards are actually reissued cards with their own unique numbers. They also require significant security measures to protect from cloning attacks.
So banks need a party that they can safely issue a digital card to, knowing that the card data will be stored safely.
Even a FOSS app that covers all the user’s needs is going to have a lot of trouble actually getting a card loaded into it under current standards.
I hate to say it, but crypto wallets are likely the closest thing we’re ever going to get to a FOSS tap-to-pay system. Banks are inherently corporate and capitalist, so it’s not really in their nature to make things open source.
Perhaps if there were an industry standard for issuing digital cards, instead of banks partnering with centralized wallet apps, we could procure our own digital cards to load onto our phones and watches, or integrate into other devices. But that’s a whole other battle that nobody is fighting right now.
File Manager Plus:
It connects to all my SFTP servers effortlessly, and it’s an absolutely stellar file Manager.
JuiceSSH:
Manages all my SSH servers and identities, and has an extremely usable terminal. It’s got extensions too.
I doubt it. Streaming sites like Fmovies are used almost entirely by technologically illiterate users. It’s for people who want to pirate, but don’t want to learn anything.
These users are going to remain helpless until the next malware-laden streaming website enters their lives.
They’re not about to install additional software to try to access anything, or at least not software like I2P or BitTorrent, because that would require effort and some amount of technical understanding to accomplish.
This is like wondering why so many people still use Twitter two years into Elon’s hostile takeover. People will resign themselves to defeat if it saves them from having to learn anything new.
Did you actually read the article? The designers of this vision model used a software trick (inspired by the concept of quantum tunneling that has nothing to do with quantum computing) to allow inputs to bypass hidden layers at random, resulting in results that were able to see certain optical illusions in a way that other vision models cannot.
This can be done by just adding some noise to the image. Sometimes it gets recognized as one thing and sometimes like another, just like humans would.
Word soup by someone who knows way less than these researchers.
That’s only ~5% of a gigabit line.
