Yup! And if you have the right dashboard you can usually drill down by location down to that level and even include those additional factors as an overlay. I used to do that using census and labor statistics data, and it is indeed very cool.

If the data is normally distributed (as in bell shaped), the mean and median will be the same. The problem is that the data is probably very skewed, so the median is probably a better representation of the central tendency than the mean. Also, it’s incorrect to say it only represents 2% of people; it’s more that every person is only represented by their position in the set. Quintiles, quartiles, and percentiles work the same way. I like to think of it as everyone being a single vote, unweighted by value.

That said, if you wanted another acceptable alternative, you can also remove all outliers and likely return the curve back to normal. The problem there is you’d probably be removing every immigrant, so you wouldn’t be representing all Americans. Pros and cons, but given medians are almost only used to describe data and not analyze it, since it’s not compatable with a lot of statistics. A real analyst would probably just dummy code immigration in a regression and provide coefficients for both groups, anyway.

I like that they have to use median, because I’m often having to find examples of why you’d use that over mean. My wife for instance is over 5k miles from her mom, and I imagine that’s true of most immigrants. So the skew is probably really, really strong if you didn’t use a non parametric measure like the median.

My wife put on Wandavision in the background to kinda rewatch while cleaning yesterday. Long story short, no cleaning got done after the third episode, with me putting of work for a bit to sit and watch from the fifth episode on.

Iirc, the leak was from steam achievements being posted to another game and that sort of tipped people off. Seems like a pretty dumb mistake, if it really is a mistake anyway.

They better, they did Wanda dirty in that last film she was in. Wandavision was probably the second best part of the post Endgame MCU, after maybe Loki Season 1.

I’ve heard that criticism. The upside was they right have a damage report after every freaking attack, and the speed was a lot faster paced. Granted I like a simpler system since you can still optimize it (but good luck remembering ex combos lol).

Plus in the first one you can throw rotten bananas at people. Some of the cards were a little out there.

I just finished and mastered the second Baten Kaitos game on GC. Every single Magnus, every side quest, every mix, etc., for retroachevements. It was brutal.

I did both games this past month and man to I want to talk about some of the twists but nobody knows what the fuck I’m talking about, haha.

I mean, it’s been here for beta years and yes, it is absolutely fantastic. The one year penalty keeps me from handing it out like candy to extended family and friends (plus we all have that cousin who can’t be trusted) while I can let my wife and kids play games on my account without them kicking me out of mine.

The parental controls are good too, although I’m not using them yet since my kids are too young to really pick their games from the library themselves.

As much as I want to fight them to the death over it, I fixed the spelling. My wife is still reluctant to get US citizenship, so I’m ready to duel on her behalf!

Yep, we had to send info on the kids within a year. Upside, they get duel citizenship (kind of) until 20. Japan doesn’t recognize dual citizenship otherwise (although you can just not inform them).

Yes, I’m pretty sure you’re right. I get to deal with that registry as an American married to a Japanese woman and the irony is I don’t have this problem some the registry practically refuses to acknowledge my side of the family exists. But it’s a big deal, and the termination likely is so the person doesn’t have that connection of families in the web of family tree data the government tracks.

Side note, movie looks like the more recent Jumanji release. Bad, heavy on CGI, and not nearly a good as the original inspiration, and includes a tough Polynesian actor just because.
