You spoke the truth here. It’s unclear why people are taking exception with you.

This is a nothing burger. They even say that the people who are struggling got into too much home to begin with. They made up a whole article about people buying houses that are too expensive for their incomes.
I’m fine with this. This has been a problem at least 100 years in the making. Let the market readjust.
And some of the engineering types are busy kissing the feet of people like Altman and Musk so they don’t get a chance to even notice.
I manage computing for a large university. One of my recently graduated students told me that he thought that technology just worked until he worked for me and saw the problems that come up. He was already a very tech-aware person and is going for a PhD in Infomatics, so if even he didn’t understand this, then what can we expect from the general public?
As someone who has hired lots of CS students, the successful ones tend to:
-Have a public GIT repo where they have all of their personal and class projects publicly available. You put this on your resume and potential employers can browse at leisure.
-Have done a student group like robotics or satellite club.
-Have interned somewhere with a name. Doesn’t matter what the job is, just get that name on your resume. Sadly, what you know and can do is less important than where you interned and overworked or unmotivated hiring managers really need bullet points that they can grab on to and then move on.
I was like…what comment did they make in response to mine that got removed before I got a chance to see…and now I can guess the type of comment it was. It’s ok to be wrong, it doesn’t mean you’re weak or a bad person.
Valve is a private company that acts with good will. Not sure what you’re on about.
This was my experience. My first interaction was me asking a question in good faith. I was then attacked en masse and banned. When I asked about it, I was told how I was a terrible person for not already knowing and believing what they do.
lollol you’re just a few years away from complaining that kids don’t speak properly anymore
Oh wow another star comment from you!
Someone’s going to end up making an adapter for the new variants to plug into a DIP.
I’ve heard this as well.
It’s basically the new IBM.
But it seems that it’s actually built in to some part of their software so Microsoft is still responsible as a whole.
I don’t get why they don’t propose a fix themselves.
You were lucky. I got in right before the Reddit exodus, so I guess I got in before they closed things down.
LOL this was me. I thought it would be cool to be on the DEV instance and didn’t know that it had a whole lot of other baggage on it.
Better headline: Most people do not want to live anywhere near the Sun Belt and therefore it’s super cheap now.
