Damn this would be great for mastodon too! Imagine a plugin that auto flagged images locally, and gave you a heads up. Kinda like what tech companies have but wont freak out if it finds “extremist” content.

Honestly fedi could improve UX, basic changes included account sharing via QR code, forced use of the username + domain so users understand that domains are used. And a few more I can’t think of right now

For mastodon I don’t use a client cause there really isn’t a good for calckey right now. The webapp isn’t perfect but its good enough

yeah, I mean that’s one take. I feel like it’s debatable. I guess them not wanting to use calckey is about the same as me not wanting to use soapbox. I feel like politics of devs matter more when your marginalized, and while calckey issues don’t effect me as a mostly white Hispanic I feel like it effects people of color more.

I will be honest, I feel like all foss software has these issues, I use linux and there are so many devs I cannot really say who is who obviously, I just feel like for a ton of people expressly People of color it might be important to use software that isn’t against your interest.

I know this!, the issue is 90% of people don’t. If the devs on calckey are semi problematic they won’t use it and use threads, bsky, or honestly just twitter. I feel like they hold foss software to a higher standard.

Its cause mastodon is more dominate player in the fediverse, pretty much all instances run mastodon.

My main concern is propriety extensions being embraces and meta breaking things like content warnings. In general imagine you pretty much needing meta services in order to get basic functionality and you seeing the effects of meta regardless of your choice to federate with them

Meta is most likely planning on adding propriety extensions to the fediverse kinda like how android is Foss but pretty much alls apps depend on Google
