I use both all the time. Organic Maps rendering and navigation feels snappier, even with 2.5D support, and less cluttered, but since I do contribute to OpenStreetMap, OsmAnd is unmatched for editing and access to power tools like up-to-date data, GPS tracking, PDI editions, etc.
Unfortunately, in my country the map is not as complete as the proprietary options, so, using OsmAnd is more practical for me. As a regular user, though, I’d prefer Organic Maps.
I don’t even like the widespread use of the word “creator”.
Awesome. Thank you.
Where can I borrow the template?
They should focus more on their mobile browser. At this point the desktop browser is on par with Chrome. People who use Chrome does it because they don’t care enough about privacy, but on mobile there is a noticeable difference between their performances.
Wouldn’t call that piracy.
It’s weird to me that, in this specific community, people is condemning this kid as a cyber criminal and as someone playing for the “wrong side”.
Very recently, and “dirt cheap” is a stretch. Dirt cheap compared to the pandemic years, sure.
Jesus Christ, why can’t they just leave it alone. At this point they are grasping at straws. More likely, people will stop using YouTube at all than turning off adblockers or switching browsers.
I don’t mind these feeds as long as they are controlled. Unsubscribed from data is beautiful because they used to use a bot to feed from Reddit, I believe, but it was out of control, reposting everything from there.
I wouldn’t mind if it was something coming from other instances, less spammy, at least as an experiment.
Props to Voyager too. It’s now in Fdroid and allows me to hide the voting scores. That’s all I’ve ever wanted from Reddit, a great client like Infinity with no visible vote scores. Lemmy will be more and more used with all these new clients for sure.
A lot of research can be downloaded if it’s open access. If it is not, you can request papers to the authors, this is really easy in platforms like ResearchGate. Others have also mentioned SciHub if you are okay with the arrr option.
Yeah. Although, I was more like a niche contributor in Reddit and currently Lemmy’s action happens in big communities, so I became more like a commenter than a poster. All things considered, it’s cool.
Maybe it is out there, but the Internet Archive should be wildly redundant on the internet, it's just too valuable to lose.
/u/spez aliases are getting grumpy.
It was a good run since the first days of mainstream Netflix. Now, I can’t keep up with all these services and subscriptions.
Streaming is fine to discover music, but you are not guaranteed that an album you like will be there for you the next time you want to listen to it. I do listen music in Spotify with a modded app, then I download the albums I liked. There are albums that I can’t listen to Spotify anymore, but I still have the audio files in my Subsonic server.
I actually have used it. It’s very thorough but I find out more useful for areas where mapping is already good, while the areas I contribute to are not as well mapped. Every Door is also a great tool!
