GameBoy Pocket. Screen needs a swap though. Copped some sun and the display has darkened bad.
Hexen to CS 1.6. We must be very similar in age. That’s basically my teens.
Red Alert was my favourite. Dial-up multiplayer with my school friend. Rarely finished a game because someone’s house got a phone call or someone picked up the phone. We both got in trouble when the first phone bills came in. Would spend about $2.50 in local calls each time tuntil the computers linked up. A $60 phone bill was savage back then for families living in government housing and struggling to pay off a base model computer.
That bicycle thingy must be on again.
The team had so much fun during this process that they decided to give everyone the opportunity to use generative AI to design their own F1 trophy.
Brb…
It’s prompt assistant is real good at AI prompting. Unfortunately the generator is not great. At one point I had a statue of a Mountie that looked like it belonged in the Soviet Union…despite the bottle of maple syrup by his foot.
Nah, Perez was watching closely in the mirror then held it straight and focused forward when he thought Magnusson was closed off enough. But literally like 1s later, K-mag said hi.
Prob Doohan. His dad said on the grid walk, he’s been put in the sim a heap lately.
They don’t notice it. Rarely an F1 driver is looking directly straight ahead, but when they do, they just tilt very slightly to see around it.
Since 2020 there’s been 4 distinct events where they’ve saved a driver from either death or paralysis.
The most famous being Grosjean’s crash where his car smashed through a barrier at 220kph (137mph) but the top section of the barrier didn’t collapse because the car only contacted the bottom half. So the halo plowed through it where it would have otherwise been his head.
Definitely watch this knowing it’s from Drive To Survive and they massively overdramatise—he climbed out of the fireball after 15s, not the 10mins+ Netflix makes it out to be, but they have a collection of the best footage.
Bottas overtook Logan somewhere around the 40s.
Apparently there was another overtake, but I missed it because my F1 group chat was talking about how funny it was visiting the US, someone couldn’t get headache tablets without a US driver’s licence, but the pharmacy had a gun section.
Lap 1 = Oooooooh!
Restart. Lap 1–78 = A looooooong parade for a well deserved win.
He was on a mission all weekend and executed it perfectly.
Love how he said he was getting emotional with two laps to go and told himself to keep it cool. More of that and those over the limit mistakes he does at times that costs him will end. Smooth Operator as a teammate may be finally rubbing off on him. It’s such a shame Ferrari made the idiotic move to drop Sainz. They’re genuinely S-tier partnership right now and Hamilton makes no sense for this team and paired with Leclerc.
Pit limiting’s gone, refuelling’s back, Andretti is in, safety car’s an R34, middle-east is out except for Bahrain, Monaco is go-karts, Tyrell-style 6-wheelers are allowed back in, post-race press conferences are back, Monza’s bank is restored, Bathurst is added AND the full Nordschleife, sprints are replaced with rally-x, Suzuka’s moved to Belgium to guarantee rain, nitrous is allowed in China, AM gets more points by replacing Lance with Michael Schumacher, and the opening theme is only euro beats or Japanese metal.
Ignoring the background and actually focussing on the livery, it looks like a late-90s website.
The helmet looks like someone shopped in a low quality burger emoji
Yes… You want to touch it…
But before clicking clack, tip it upside-,down and give it a couple bangs.
A whole new wooooorld! (Don’t you dare cover your mouth)
You got waaaaaaaaaay bigger fish to fry when it comes to planes, boats, and trucks involved in getting entertainment into your home.
I put it up there with football (soccer) as entertainment to millions with fairly minimal logistics emissions.
Sauber. Shit 2025, then Audi’s no. 1 in 2026.
I don’t think Hamilton fans fundamentally understand F1. They’re like the best example yet of those in the past the were more fans of the WC than of the sport. So we know they’ll stop their interest in F1 as time goes on and Hamilton inevitably ages beyond a point relevant competitiveness—which was arguably during his 6th championship.
Consequently, I was the only one in my league with no Max—costs so much—and had Sainz in with the 2× points on him instead.
Was a great weekend for my points 😁
My mind is still blown over having Sainz and Bearman, then opting to sign Hamilton. Ferrari were finally doing everything right so it makes sense they’d shoot their foot.
