People don’t read the TOS, you know that. I didn’t read them either. If you want to say that’s my fault then that’s fine but I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect people to pay attention to something like that in this context. It’s a video game. Any restrictions or conditions like this are arbitrary and unnecessary.
I don’t have a Playstation, have no interest in one, and will not be creating a PSN account. I probably won’t refund the game but I’m not going to keep playing it if they keep this requirement, which is a shame because I’ve really enjoyed my time with it. If this is the hill they want to die on then my interest will die on that hill with them.

This game just wasn’t fun. I loved DL1 and played through it just before the launch of DL2. It still holds up really well. The sequel just missed the mark in pretty much every respect. Such a bummer too. I was really excited for it.
I don't mind ads as a concept. The issue is how invasive and numerous they've become. Get back to the days when ads were just banners around the actual content or an easily skippable video that plays before what I'm trying to watch and I'll happily disable my ad blocker for you. Unfortunately hardly anyone does that anymore because they view it as a missed opportunity to make even more money.
I'm not against using ads to support websites but it's the same basic concept as piracy. If you make the experience of playing by the rules so unbearable that it seems easier to go out of my way to break them then I probably will.
I think that’s accurate for a subset of PC gamers but there’s no shortage of people pre-ordering trash games or encouraging other shitty behavior like microtransactions on PC. Many of those problems could be solved with a patience that doesn’t currently exist in sufficient quantities to discourage publishers from bad practices.
