Oh wow, 700 is insane, even if the exchange rate technically makes it cheaper.

I’d hope that that happens but in my experience a lot of people just bitch about stuff being more expensive while spending money on it anyway (I’ve done this before as well). And that sends a wrong signal because then others start doing it too. Just look at all the major streaming platforms and their account sharing crackdowns. So many people crying about it and the end result was still record profits for those companies.
Okay, so if the uncertainty about tariffs are a factor in the price then why aren’t the consoles cheaper everywhere outside the US? If you look at it, they’re (taking exchange rates into consideration) even more expensive elsewhere. In Europe, it’s €450 which translates to almost 500 dollars. And Europe is not even the worst one, the homies in Canada and Australia are getting screwed even harder.
I think it’s more or less just a cash grab. They know people will buy it even at this premium price and they don’t care if they lose some sales. The increase is so big that even if you lose some sales, you’ll make more money in the end anyway. It’s gross.
Great, maybe this will finally wake them up and stop producing so much. Oh wait, of course not. They’ll just use their record profits to adapt the port instead…
It’d be nice if they rotated the tracks a bit more in general. Some races are kinda stale at times.
I agree but in many places they have housing shortages so I don’t think it’s likely they’ll give homes to the homeless. I’m not saying they shouldn’t (it would be really nice if the government could do something like this) but it’s not very likely to happen.
If you create shelters where the homeless can stay for the night they don’t have to sleep rough in a park or station like that. Of course this won’t work for all of them, sometimes people like sleeping rough. But on average it should help, especially in the colder months. They do this where I live and I rarely see homeless in the streets when it gets dark, they’re only there during the day to scavenge for cans and bottles with deposits on them or to beg for money.
Let’s see if this actually happens or if people just put themselves in more debt. If there’s one thing the systems in America are good at, it’s preying on the poorer people by making all kinds of ways to still buy things and dig holes for yourself by loaning or credit cards.
Most of the family I know on my girlfriend’s side that’s been complaining about the prices going up haven’t done much more than that, complaining and slowly creeping up their credit card debt.
