This was the plus side for me, too. I couldn’t care less who sees what I post on social media, but (so far) at least my information here isn’t harvested to target ads to me. In fact, I had gotten so used to seeing ads on Reddit and Twitter that I was numb to it. After a year+ here, when I go back to check on those, it’s all I notice and it’s terrible.
Same here, but that doesn’t stop me from trying where I have the time and energy. One of those ways is voting. So far the government has let these companies wipe their shit onto every corner of the internet, and the 5-10% of us switching apps or emails or… Whatever, aren’t going to change that. It’s not a short-term solution, but I’m starting to think it’s really the only way.
Some instances/servers are currently not capable of uploads larger than ~100kb, so a good image CDN is desired.
Man, 5 years. I know nothing about building a browser, but that seems… Long.
