As an American, some do, others see it as explicit rejection of the in group/Christianity and hate it for that reason, still others just see it as a means of dehumanization that’ll get the dumbfucks on their side riled up. The politicians though, most of them ain’t believe in squat beyond what makes them more powerful. It’s also important to remember that when we dehumanize them it gives them some added rhetorical ground. The ability to say “see I’m not a nazi, I’m just an ordinary person [to you], not some sort of subhuman monster”. They have surrendered their souls and are unwilling to try to claw them back, but it is worth keeping in mind the ways they’ll try to use our rhetoric to weasel their way into acceptability in orher people’s eyes

A lot of them have a cultural background encouraging them to suck. It’s like white people from the American southeast. Being raised in the privileged race of an extremely racist society where your family may have grievances about being forced to lose forms of political power and explicit domination can make for some really awful people (as well as some really awesome people who grow up with an internal understanding that all this shit is wrong and fighting against it).
