This is me but not with programming, just in my interactions with other people.
IIRC it’s completely legal to walk around fully nude in San Francisco.
Edit: I was at work so I couldn’t look this up to post it but yeah, there’s a website dedicated to it.
My point is just that Lemmy is no longer made up of just Linux nerds. Over the course of the last couple of years the user base has diversified quite a bit.
I understand that this information is already basically public but there is a thin barrier to the average nitwit user accessing such information and going in a rampage screwing with people who have downvoted them. I’ll say this, if they make it more public I think I will just simply stop voting. I will continue to use Lemmy but only as a passive user.
Aren’t we all supposed to be Linux nerds in here?
After the meltdown that occurred when Reddit ultra monetize their API Lemmy acquired a lot more casual users. Especially when makers of Reddit apps switched over to making Lemmy apps instead.
I was looking for this post. If someone hadn’t already posted his video I was going to. This is information that people really fucking need to know. The plastics industry is full of lies and those lies are stuffing our landfills with toxic waste.
Well, I stand corrected. You are, indeed, a tankie.
In that case, get fucked. Governments murdering its citizens, or anyone for that matter, for any reason whatsoever is not okay.
a tankie like me
I’m not sure you understand exactly what a tankie is. I mean, do you really think it’s all right to sacrifice (I.E. straight up murder) people to the ideals of communism and socialism?
Being ultra liberal is fine IMO, even having the attitude that we might have to have use violence to overthrow of our government in order to get liberal ideals to be a part of our system is somewhat okay. But to think that our government, should it become communist, should be allowed to kill people in order to maintain a socialist or communist society is just straight up wrong and as far as I know that’s what a tankie is, someone who thinks that Tiananmen Square and Stalin’s reign of terror was just a necessary evil in order to strengthen the communist societal norm.
Way to fucking jinx it.
Tflops is floating point math genius, and the FX-8150 gets around 8 of 'em so it’s handling a huge chunk of it and offloading a lot of the finer details to the graphics card. Not even mentioning the added instruction sets. The Ryzen is handling both cause all the graphics is being run through the processor instead of through a card. So it’s doing double duty. And yeah, ram makes up for a lot. There’s also separate ram on the card so in addition the the 16 gigs of ram on board the mobo, there’s 4 more gigs on the graphics board. Not to mention the vram running off the solid state. So I will happily put my 10+ year old machine right up against any and all the consoles and it will kick every one of their asses.
I said I respectfully disagree but you wanted to take it to the floor.
Edit: here’s a spec sheet including the tflops on the Xbox one, one s, and one x.
Edit2edit: wrong GPU. Still, 2.1 beats the shit out of Xbox 1 and 1S at 2.1, and that’s without the processor doing all the heavy lifting.
My $1000 home built machine from 10 years ago can run circles around the XBox One so I respectfully disagree.
That’s with an AMD FX-8150 and 16 GB or Ram and a standard Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti running on an 8 year old Samsung solidstate.
Gaming PCs are almost universally faster and more powerful than any gaming consoles, no matter how flashy and prettily designed. (Hell, even mid tier PCs generally kick the ass of most consoles) So why the hell would a PC gamer downgrade their gaming experience by wasting their money on a console?
Considering what happened to Rick and Morty, this might be right.
Oi, don’t forget Prodigy!
Why not use Plex if you love it so much?
I think people forget how long it took for reddit to actually become popular. And how many people actually lurked on reddit for literal years before actually making an active account.
Except you can’t make Steam offer their content offline like that. By altering the language they use it effectively makes them more transparent about what you are really paying for. So, in order to use the word “buy” or “purchase” they would have to make the content available offline, or they have to use a different word that essentially means “rent” or “subscribe” cause that is what is actually happening.
