10·1 年前Yeah I’m not super versed in retro handhelds, but I’ve seen reviews of products that are not too much more expensive, yet offer like 100x the features and performance. I would imagine the ability to load custom ROMs would be a deal breaker. These review units seem one step away from coming in a cereal box, or as a superhero-themed extra toy you get in a movie theater popcorn combo.
Eh, I think there’s a need for appropriate technology here. Lemmy is inherently a multi-modal platform, with images, links, and text. I like the browser skins and apps that browse Lemmy.
As an educational project or simply for fun I say go for it.

91·1 年前Good for them. Cyberpunk was an excellent game, and the Phantom Liberty expansion was dope. The multiple different endings made the game much more replayable. Some of the endings are some of the saddest in videogames lately.
I worked for a competitor, (not laid off, just quit to take a break). AMD seems to pay a bit better and the office is closer to home. They have been stealing coworkers over the years. I get the impression that the company culture is a bit more about taking risks. My old employer was very conservative, and even though I was working in the least conservative team, I still felt like the culture was too slow.
Why? Is it a bad place to work? Spill the beans lol

Idea: install this on some old laptop/tablet or something. Open Doom. Enjoy a retro wallpaper as Doom plays itself.

Hi. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it that way. People have put a lot of effort into developing Lemmy as both a software and a community, and it wasn’t my intention to devalue anyone’s efforts or say that it’s a lost cause. I think people should continue using Lemmy. This was just literally my stream of consciousness. I’m more upset that the original Reddit is gone and I wanted to highlight how Lemmy is not a perfect replacement.
