  • It’s a gamble with risks that your local chains who resells the same stuff usually shoulders for you. I’ve bought a lot of stuff here, including original electronics, up to ≈$2k a piece. Research is your first best friend, the second best friend is a camera you record unboxing with to prove to Ali you deserve a refund. I’m not into 3ds market, but if nothing alarmed you before you placed an order, it should be okay, I guess.

It’d be interesting to see your report after you test it.

  • Oh, and this time you’ve got some fun toys to play with like the Atlan, a “daunting skyscraper-sized mech capable of toppling Hell’s behemoths with titanic metal fists” and a Mecha Dragon to fly around on too.

And Doomguy has a shield (is he a coward?) and a morgenstern-hook like on Ethernal’s shotgun for more scripted actions, and probably more QTEs. And they dive deep into the ‘lore’ of Doom showing us some of his previous incarnation, so await cutscenes and tell-don’t-show about how gorgeous the Doomguy is instead of you actually being him.

Good good boomer shooter genre is here and old games are still accessible. Probably Machine Heads who remastered Quake and added their own episodes are more equipped to do real Doom games than the remains of Id.

  • Cheaper and simplier devices can do that, I agree. Lowering gradations of grey can hurt comic books readers but won’t hurt book reading routine that much. WiFi and bluetooth are convinient, but at the same time they hurts bettery life too much, so it’s better to go without them. Sleeping or turned off mode is kinda stupid for it rerenders the whole page to show the default image on cheap devices - the goal as I see it is to minimize rerendering and thus turn off these completely. Touchscreens are rather useless and they too use power – a couple of physical buttons cover most needs. It’s just the UI on most of them is very unfriendly, judging by chinese ones I had used, and open-sourcing it can save us a lot of headache. Backlit books though are here to be, and there should be a hotkey to turn it off and on, so one can resd it comfortably at any time and quickly avoid energy waste. Having SD card for everything exluding OS instead of internal memory would probably make it cheaper. And as we probably expecting schools to make them popular, there should be a dock for multiple devices to rapidly upload one collection of files to a dozen of devices.
