  • I think if you unpack the international and you’re in index you’re going to find yourself still heavily invested in AI (TSMC for instance).

I don’t have the option in my 401K to choose to invest in sectors. My only real options when it comes to equities are for instance, large cap vs mid cap. Mid-cap would exclude nVidia but I bet it’ll just end put putting me in even trashier AI stocks. As the bubble has heated up I’ve slowly been moving my retirement out of equities because there’s no real way for me to select “non-AI equities.” I’m down to about 20% equities now, down from 80% before I started messing with it.

  • People started allowing scrapers because they needed to get in the search engine indexes to get traffic. But getting scraped being a win-win for the scraper and scrapee is long past. Now it’s completely parasitic. The search engines are even going out of their way to not send traffic to organic results.

I wonder if it’s time to start to create an un-indexable “shadow internet.” Block all scraping even the search engines. Maybe put up login walls. How will people find your website? We’ll have to go back to word of mouth, link rings, or the like.

  • “It’s at 90 PSI and is 80 percent air, 15 percent water, and 5 percent oil,”

Something’s seriously wrong with the air system then, and it will contaminate all their work and compromise the welds. Water is a particularly pernicious contaminant in welding because it causes hydrogen in the weld that will make it brittle and crack.

Welding shops have to be CLEAN. There are some welding processes that can work ok with dirty metal (SMAW with some electrode types) but these only work on mild steel, and these processes really aren’t used in a shop or production setup, more for field work.
