It’s just a joke about the 621.
I wasn’t comparing them to that. Making a joke about the 621 in the lawsuit amount. It’s a furry-associated number.
Are major record labels furries?
Hopefully the concentration is about 55.5 M H2O.
Username checks out. If they weren’t so awful, maybe people would care about defending them, but there’s just all-around awful. They’re uglier, harder to use, and seem to frequently get damaged (probably mostly from people trying to fight with them or just bending them out of the way because damaging them is worth it to avoid dealing with them…
I have some of those. There’s just a sliding mechanism built into the pane on the inside. No string. Much cleaner look and so much easier to use.
We know it’s a patent suit though. Just because the article focuses on specific patents doesn’t mean those parents are not already ridiculous and that the lawsuit, even if it’s not based on those specific patents, is also ridiculous.
If you use the subscription for like a single console generation, you find out most of the cost of the console was hidden in the find print via those installment payments. At least with the PS5Pro, thanks to the really high console price and relatively short time til the PS6, the cost of the subscription isn’t that much if you intend to upgrade to the PS6 immediately. But if you got the original 5 and planned to keep it until the 6, then you might be spending more on your PS5 basic-tier subscription than the MSRP of the PS5Pro (and double if you used premium the whole time).
For me, it took me several months to use the 100 trial searches. Paying $5/month for like 20 searches isn’t worth it for me. Also just not into getting more subscriptions… wouldn’t matter if it was just 50 cents/month for the basic plan. If they had one-time-payment no-expiration option like 1000 searches for $10, I’d probably lean towards getting that.
Yeah. Not sure how long these kinds of things take. Would hope it doesn’t take much longer to at least get it in nightly. Seems like they added vertical tabs recently, so maybe they wanted to get that done first and groups will come soonish?
Ventoy is cool. Wish clonezilla didn’t have issues with images being in the same device as clonezilla, but that’s not ventoy’s fault. I still just have a windows boot drive lying around since before ventoy, so I forgot to consider that. Granted, I’m not sure how many people who already have ventoy setup and defaults to using it without looking up guides and l wanted to install W11 on an old device for some reason would find it hard to figure out how to do so.
Has it even made it to nightly yet?
Rufus does.
You still have to decide what you are doing with different storage devices and partitions, regardless of what OS you are installing. If you have a single storage device and a single OS, it’s probably straight forward. If you add more, it gets more complicated. At least with windows, if it’s your only OS, the assumption is you will let it handle everything and it’s all just nfst. With Linux, it often seems to want to make all sorts of partitions (at least home, root, and swap? Idr since it’s been some time), make decisions about file systems and what type of partition. I rather not leave those choices up to default autopartition options, especially when dualbooting.
Just back up any important files. I’ve had to do many reinstallations because of accidentally breaking things.
For pdf software, using wine is an option. It also has been a concern of mine with switching, but it seems the software I’ve been using (PDFxchange) works fine with wine.
The bypass thing happens when making the boot drive and is basically the exact same process as Linux. It just asks do you want to bypass it and you click that. If you aren’t getting a boot drive, then you can’t install it. And making a boot drive is the easiest part of a Linux installation.
The bypass is just ticking a box while making the bootdrive to install the OS. If making a bootdrive is too hard, installing linux is probably out of the question.
Cool. Being trans, not tolerating transphobia, and having emotes is comparable to being nazis?
Also, not suggesting people need to go there because its active. I could go to traa, egg, mtf, agender, enby, etc on reddit, but I don’t want to use reddit and a lot of those communities make hexbear look tame in terms of spamminess and immaturity.
Games is the largest games com by far in terms of posts and comments (150k comments and 15k post vs 71k comments and 3k posts on lemmy world…
News has most posts than any other news and about as many comments as lemmyworld.
Politics has the most posts of any politics coms, but far less comments than lemmyworld’s.
History basically has no competitors (150k comments vs 7k for the next largest)
Movies also has no competitors (75k comments vs 9k for the next largest).
Videos has 56k comments vs lemmyworld’s 13k
Music has 45k comments vs lemmyworld’s 6k
Urbanism has 44k comments vs fuckcar’s 19k
Granted, given Hexbear has been around for 4 years, the number of comments/posts is largely a side effect of age. But it also means calling them duplicates is probably misleading. OTOH, the main trans community there has been very active recently, dwarfing all other trans communities combined.
Silverchase’s comment is a trick to prevent you from finding out how tasty switch cartridges are.
