I’ve never seen a flipboard post on xitter.
Mortgage loan officer passionate about helping others.
I’ve never seen a flipboard post on xitter.
I just tried using all, wow, I didn’t realize the fediverse had declined this much. It’s worse than a 250k member Facebook meme group that’s been abandoned.
Streaming platforms are all joining in on the enshitification process.
Soon, people will join one service for one month then switch to the next.
After that, they will all begin contracts to “lock in the price.” Possibly in bundle agreements with multiple providers.
That’s when the full transition to $120+ cable costs returns, but in streaming format.
Uhh, Redbox is still super cheap
Remember there are tools to sync an account to another instance so that you can make backups. This will count my backups as additional subscribers to your niche communities if I’m subscribed.
Their logo is a letter opener?
Lemmy didn’t take off like all my other moves and that’s ok. Can’t stand what Reddit stands for. I won’t ever contribute there but I’m forced to visit to get commentary I need to see on the war and other niche topics.
The robots have filled the content problem but not the commentary problem. And no, I don’t want bot commentary.
What is a tankie? First time I’m seeing it today.
I don’t believe you realize the full scope of your “everything is federated” approach. There’s some really toxic instances out there that will happily reach beyond their instance into yours and abuse your users, relentlessly.
Your head will explode in dealing with it.
I just miss the rich text editing that Lemmy offers. I don’t care to learn the code or type it out. Eventually I’d like Voyager to get an app in the App Store as an option to build in these extra features.
Yep. Then you find Voyager, vger.app where you install that website as an app, now you get a similar Apollo experience from the “old Reddit days.” That’s what I’ve used since day 3.
Google never really recovered from the attempt at “FOMO” by restricting most from accessing the newly hyped social media network.
By the time Google opened it up, people were already moving on to other platforms.
Although some instances do restrict new signups, imagine if they all restricted access? It would not be the same here.
Had a big following on G+, did a few courses and had a lot of fun in that network. Still friends with many of the people I connected with on there.
Never quite got that feel on Reddit and Lemmy won’t have it either because identities are hidden. But that’s OK, all platforms have a purpose.
I still can’t stand Facebook. Even though it makes me money, I feel the ick being on there every time.
I’m hoping the great guys at .ml will approve my registration there. Setting up a backup account and would prefer it be there with all my stuff subscribed and ready, just in case.
I’d love to see an awards system! It’d be great to select the instance that receives the funds with the default being where their account is registered.
I would love US governments / states to start their own instance on the fediverse. Talk about explosive growth to this community.
This is awesome!!! Glad to be here before the first 100k and before the change to Voyager from WefWef.
If I’m to believe I own the crap I buy that’s digital delivery, then if they want to take it back, they need to buy it from me at my price.
