What’d it take for me to switch? Short of the distro I use switching the infrastructure over to it, probably nothing. And even then if an atomic distro would be annoying I’d probably jump ship to a different distro
The reason is that… well basically the points you mentioned: I have my setup how I like it, and I don’t see anything particularly compelling feature wise that’d make me interested in switching

I mean… it’s little kids so I was just sorta assuming minecraft bedrock over LAN… if we’re doing proper server stuff and you have the resources to throw around that’d also fix the issue… though they’d still have to clear the cows manually, so depends on what point in the game they are, an enchanted diamond sword is way less of a hassle than a stone one y’know? :3

Assuming they’re playing on a device that can handle 80 cows yes :3
If they’re playing bedrock on a tablet or something it may need to be downscaled a bit
Assuming the cows are causing a lot of lag, so he’s upset that he can’t clear them out and play the game
The obvious solution then is just using a command to kill the cows… and probably tell the other kid not to do that again x3

Don’t have the ps5 (had enough of sony with the ps4), but honestly the extra 700€ or whatever it works out for my setup when compared to the console was worth it just for the fact I don’t have to have my headphones cranked to max to hear the dialogue over the fans, let alone everything else that’s just plain better x3
Yeah, they’re quite similar, on one I can play online for free, get tons of indies and demos, play with any controller I want, as well as have access to a bunch of non-gaming features, and on the other… I have to buy giftcards to use the online store because despite the fact that the console is sold here there’s no option to register psn in the country, which means it won’t take my card

The main thing stopping me from using linux on a phone is the fact that the ID thingy that’s needed for banking doesn’t have an app
