There truly is something for everyone! :D
There truly is something for everyone! :D
That does make sense! I like the point about older systems, I didn’t even stop to think about how much storge space has exploded in such a short amount of time and how it started from incredibly small capacities at very high prices that could have been hard to justify for any company that realistically just needed to keep some records
That’s really interesting!
The good news is it sounds like this issue is being taken into account.
Is there a part in that page that says so? I wasn’t able to find it
I wouldn’t be surprised if they added a YEAR2 though. T-SQL has a datetime2, after all.
Ok I wasn’t expecting that, it sounds like a meme, but it’s actually real lol
Yes 2 bytes is absolutely fine for me in fact (waiting for this comment to age like milk in my cryo pod), but then if YEAR will just stay the same forever, will it become a relic of the past? If so, why YEAR in the first place, who would actually make use of it?
Am too surprised that it is an evolving standard, so I was curious to read a little, then…

What???
And better error messages than “bro, you got a syntax error on this line”
They said you can merge without conflicts:
Making a backup every 60 days seems to be sufficient to keep all history. sqlite doesn’t reuse old ids (I think?) so merging the backups shouldn’t be too hard.
But they haven’t tested it, also I wonder if once you do that successfully, Firefox will just delete all the extra records at the next startup, so idk
Is it possible to learn this power?
:D and ∞ are the manifestations of my struggle

I didn’t know, that sucks so much.
Though, someone made a post on superuser and a reply said that you can back up the database, so at least something is salvageable
I would love this so much, I looked around to see if anyone had opened an official issue for that yet, but I saw nothing on their Jira
Gotta love protected sex
Here’s a short list I made some time ago: https://codeberg.org/quazar-omega/awesome-yt-dlp
For desktop I suggest Parabolic, now it’s on Windows too!
Don’t know about Mac OS though, if you find one, do send a PR, I’d be happy to add it to the list :)
Even funnier when it’s their own platform and it has been missing the feature to disable them for so long afaik
Nice! Man, it would be awesome to have a full on Libredirect as a Lemmy bot
That’s a big undertaking, congrats on the release!
Also totally felt that wanting to do something even for years and finally starting it for real
I didn’t see a line that suggests they’re putting Qwant as default, only that they’re making it available as a search provider, just as DuckDuckGo and others are.
They say:
Did you know you could choose the search engine of your choice right from your Firefox URL bar?
That illustration is a mood
Could be, it looks pretty unknown for now though
