This is in my top 10 we need more local mythological creature SCP.
I know 1000 is big foot and I know Mothman is a SCP any other examples?

SCP@lemmy.world•Someone in the main quarters will have a bad headache trying to find out which SCP sent this.
4·2か月前There’s a few SCPs I would trust getting a drink with.
Some range from “friendly” to they probably won’t kill me for fun
The Broken Masquerade cannon is one of my favorite cannons.
Dr. Clef on Oprah and a Thought provoking tale a lot of good in this one
That’s the most likely explanation I needed a sanity check to make sure YouTube didn’t pull a YouTube and nuke it just because they felt like it

SCP@lemmy.world•in case you were wondering where the logo came from...
3·3か月前I mean how many companies have acronyms that spell out SCP? There’s dozens of shell companies and secret sites hiding in plain site.
Well now hang on there’s also [REDACTED]
To be fair to them there was a reason for the whole destruction of the human race thing. If anyone hasn’t read this one yet it’s a great read

SCP@lemmy.world•Does it bug you SCP doesn't seem to have consistent timeline?
2·3か月前I’ve wanted to tackle this issue myself.
The main point of SCP is there isn’t one single cannon. Is there a main one? Sure the foundation exists and they lock stuff up and study it. But it varies from writer to writer and article.
The site puts it best
“The idea that there is no canon is a bit silly at times. It’s not that we don’t have any — It’s that we have a multitude which touch, cross, and dip into each other. It’s up to you, as the reader, to decide what you believe and what you embrace as the heart of the universe.
That doesn’t mean, though, that authors lack intent or design, and collaboration is the heart of innovation.”
This is a fun one for SCP YouTubers to cover
The Volgun went for a children’s story
years ago I went with Morse code for my covering of it
There Is No Antimemetics Division - Ep 1 - : SCP Horror Short Series is a good series which adapts a number of stories about Memetics and Antimemes
And from the Broken Masquerade Hub I like PSA: Cognitohazards and You!
Dr. Wondertainment‘s creations are interesting to say the least.
One can only wonder what man, women, group, or entity runs the organization.
That’s the fun of SCP there’s so many of them you’ve got plenty of options to pick a favorite
I’ll have to check this out later
That’s one way to see it but this line makes me think otherwise. “There had to be someone out there somewhere, out of the view of the person on the other end. Yet his brain fills with the now-familiar fear of being stuck alone, on a planet of nothing but dust and escaped anomalies.” SCP-079 had been trapped alone for years at this point. 079 also says this “A machine does not need company.“ it doesn’t really care to be left alone but it’s tried to help humans over the years it actually liked helping them. At least it claims. Assuming 079 was telling the truth about trying to help humans, and Tordai really being the last human on the planet maybe 079 really did just want to help and how he helps is by giving the option of a A Clean, Fast End.
And wait till they see what the chair does to anyone in a GOC uniform
First I heard about SCPs I was probably too young to be reading them. The first I saw was a fake security footage video of 173. My young brain concluded this has to be real it’s right there. I then went to the site clicked on 001 and was afraid I was gonna die fun times

I can confirm if you look past the thumbnail it’s a great short film
