Absolutely, idiocracy was too optimistic. In their version, it took 500 years to get there.
We’ll be there in a generation, maybe 2. (If we have that many generations.)

I hate how increasingly accurate this movie has become.
I don’t think everyone has to have read the original source material to enjoy something made from that material.
But if you’re going to complain about it being faithful to the source material? Naw, that’s in no way legit.
Fyi, what’s happening in LA is a much more trumpian distraction; it’ll suck up all the media oxygen, it’s an (possibly the only, if iirc) issue (immigration) on which he not only has overwhelming Republican support but ALSO a net favourable rating with the public overall.
Oh yeah, he’s absolutely trolling and doing so delightfully.
Ehhhh, trump’s incredibly successful modus operandi for distraction is to bait the Left into over-reacting etc. Epstein is actually important to a swathe of his voters (as is, I assume the respect of one of the wealthiest men on Earth.)
If trump wanted a distraction, he’d sifn another ED targetting trans folks or somesuch in a way to make the Left freak out so that the fight becomes about that/our over reaction depending on your pov.
Groovy! This is on my list for next winter and I’ve always enjoyed turn based more than real time for rpgs.
What a sad way to spend your time.
I hope things get better in your life.
Fully agree on the modern movies spoon feeding (or at least, most mainstream ones.)
I’m lucky, there’s a little indie theatre about a joints’ walk away from my place so I’ve caught a few great Westerns there. As much as I loves them, I know if I’d been at home, the distractions/phone/cat/anything else etc would’ve been overwhelming on hour 2 or 3 of slow panning across a desert vista…
