Today I Learned@lemmy.world•Karl Marx sent a letter to Abraham Lincoln congratulating him for the abolition of SlaveryEnglish
20·1 year agoI know he wrote a letter to Lincoln during the civil war urging him to make the war about slavery, not just unification. Didn’t know there was a follow up.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL that some people do not have an inner voice and think in different nonverbal ways.English
12·2 years agoHonestly I’d kind of like that in some ways. Language is actually pretty limiting, so not being stuck with it for thinking would make some thoughts easier to convey to yourself.

The situation is you’ve been banned. They’re just suggesting a reason you might have been banned. One that is imo pretty believable and reasonable.
Unless you got told by the lemmygrad mods that the ban was about your relationship advice, we’ll keep saying you were banned for the Ukraine comments.

5·3 years agoYou will observe with concern how long a useful truth may be known, and exist, before it is generally received and practiced on - Ben Franklin

Not really, people understood email just fine, and fediverse isn’t that different. The problem is there’s a major subtle push to make anything open source look way more complex than it is. It’s basically an open secret that microsoft did this with linux, and I’d be shocked if social media companies aren’t doing the same.
That’s inevitable. Anything foss will appeal far more to the anti corporate/ anti capitalist leftist people.
