Oh hey look, Nancy Reagan 2.

Oh hey look, Nancy Reagan 2.

I’d imagine the plan here is a plea deal. DA gets to have their name in the headlines, woman still goes to jail, dumb voters think it’s justice for “immorality”, wins all around.

Is DA/prosecutor an elected office there? Pressing this case could look really good to the “traditional family” people - there’s a lot of them who might not say it out loud, but hate adoption as a concept.

The crime would arguably work as child endangerment, but even then, it’s pretty thin. This girl clearly didn’t have enough of a support structure to feel safe putting the kid up for adoption, and since TX is busy trying to force everything that even looks like support for young mothers to leave, expect to see a lot more of this.

Ah, but the trick is that A) Trump doesn’t care and B) the treaty says nothing about selling the moon off to corporate entities. I could definitely see this admin selling mining rights, that’s why Isaacman wants a moon base as opposed to an orbital station (which was the initial plan, as a launching point for future inner and outer system exploration).

This is, sadly, a pretty reasoned position among some political analysts. Having the USSR as an easy counterpart to point to forced the US to actually bother with addressing social issues and not totally allowing employers and the rich to run roughshod on society.

To be entirely fair, if his books and interviews are to be believed, every minute of every day, every calorie of every meal, is scheduled, tracked, and analyzed. None of these biohacker guys seem to actually do things for fun.

One wonders if the worst sailors, the ones who said things publicly, are gonna get transferred to another ship to get Libertied. I can see Israel doing that again to help cover things up. I can also see us sinking our own destroyer or cruiser or supply ship off Cuba to justify THAT war. Two birds, one stone. A little tinfoil-y, but I’m long past putting much above this administration.

I was about to say, I read all the books as they were releasing. This is still dumb as fuck and the fans who agitated for it should feel ashamed.

I was about to say, from some of the reporting I’ve seen, he must have known about this for MONTHS. Breaking your daughter’s collarbone and pointing a gun at your wife aren’t just things that start happening after one bad argument, there’s almost always a pattern of abuses. I’m convinced this man, like the spineless piece of shit that came from my state to call itself the Vice President, has no center other than “I want to be powerful and in control of things”, and nothing is beyond sacrifice for a person like that.

Gotta be the latter. I think they’re all looking at Grandpa and seeing how long he has left - and everyone, every one of them is eyeing that big chair.

My biggest issue is making the main character a bard who doesn’t even get a SINGLE swing in combat, or a single spell to cast. He seems to mostly just exist as a peg to hang the story on.

I have bad news for how the Nuremberg trials generally wound up.

He did this in the first term as well - float a guy as acting whatever, then just shovel them out the door when someone says “hey why is this sketchy dude an AG”.

It looks like it to the parents and the board, which is all that matters. Most of them don’t ever see the hours of putting together a curriculum, or answering questions, or grading essays and putting homework together and trying to keep kids interested. They just remember (wrongly) “well you get up and talk about stuff from a book, what if we fed that book to a machine and it said that stuff instead for the price of your salary, once.”

About a third to two thirds of literally everyone who wound up kidnapped into this camp, yes.

Animation is now about as expensive as live-action, and Disney, like most studios, is still on “animation is for kids”. They’re trying to position these live-action remakes as somehow “more adult” because they’re not animated.

Loss of experience isn’t a trackable metric, you can’t put it in a spreadsheet, so it doesn’t exist to the company.

Oh nah, he doesn’t wanna be the world’s boss - that’s work, and exposes him to way too much criticism and publicity. He’d much rather be the Wormtongue or Saruman than be Sauron. He wants the benefits of access to power, not necessarily the power itself (and the vulnerability that comes with it).
