I never beat it, but tlI enjoyed what I did play of it enough that if I could find my copy I might give it another go.
It’s interesting because I didn’t really like Janeway a ton until her first interaction with Q. Like, there was nothing outright bad about Mulgrew’s portrayal, I just wasn’t completely and totally sold on the character yet from a writing perspective.
Something about a captain interacting with an omnipotent being really seals something for me personally, because Sisko’s interaction with Q was what sold me on him right away, too.
I enjoyed Gibney as Benteen, so I’m sure it would have worked out, it just would have been…different.
I think it’s a combination of all of the reasons you stated AND the sorting algorithm not being the same as some of us are used to on Reddit.
I’m still getting used to finding content I haven’t seen when I’m not toggled to “Subscribed”.
A way to mark something as “read” and not have it show back up for me unless I’ve posted in it would be handy, but as with all new paradigms, I’ll get used to this one eventually and likely wonder how I ever did things the “old way”.
