Very misleading graphic, suggesting that Haas (2014) is as old as Williams (1977), McLaren (1963), or even Ferrari (before 1950).

1·2 months agoThe logo reminded me of the peppermints brand King (that originated in the town I live in). The edge of their packaging always featured the red symbol much like yours.
Peppermint (the herb, not the sweets) is also known for its healing properties.

Programming@programming.dev•Can you suggest any online typing game for measuring the speed and accuracy of kids in real time ? It's preferable that it's in the form of graphics like video games, which the kids enjoy playing
4·3 months agoNot exactly what you asked, but close I think: a (paid) full gamified typing course for kids, in several languages including English: https://www.typetopia.com/

I assume you already discussed this with your players – I know that in my main player group just 2 of the 8 are willing to GM regularly, some will do oneshots, but also some freak out by the thought of having to lead a session.
I like the episodic approach, I’ve been thinking about that for my 2nd group since we only play once per month and it is hard for most to remember story elements that happened two or more sessiona ago (and note taking is hard 🤔).
On the other hand I like having some sort of continuity that might turn into an overarching story later on. Things like recurring NPCs, friendly or villainous. If there is no continuity at all, I fear it might turn uninteresting rather quickly.
But ‘monster of the week’ is an existing format (there’s even a published game by that name)
Nice! I backed the kickstarter a few years ago. happy you like it!
I’ve run ‘Sarah…’ as a oneshot too, and even though I got the pacing totally wrong the first time, I agree that it is a good one; I will definitely run it again .
I use https://owlbear.rodeo/ for that. It allows you to cast your map to a 2nd screen in player mode, while you can still see the full picture. It has ‘fog’ to hide areas from the players and supports zooming in on each screen separately, or you can sync zoom&view (manually or continuously) from your dm screen

rpg@ttrpg.network•How big was the Weiss/Hickman revolution with stuff like Dragonlance in the 80's ?
7·1 year agoI was part of a gaming club in Europe from 1983. I learned to play D&D basically just like Dragonlance depicted when it was published in 1984. So, for us, it was more of a reinforcement than a revolution.

rpg@ttrpg.network•Dungeons & Dragons will release its 2024 ruleset under a Creative Commons licence
11·2 years agoNo, it is the 2024 version of the 5th edition rules. Supposedly fully compatible with existing adventures, and not breaking existing characters.
I expect people will refer to it as 5.5, or 5.2, or anything except ‘2024’. But we’lll see…

I have a small site with no robots.txt . Google search console still shows the same number of search results as in the last few months (around 800/month)
