It doesn’t matter that we have a law because they don’t care. If the police chase them off they just wait a few weeks and come back. Technically they have to show movement every day, but that would mean that police would have to go out there every day to check on them.
I don’t live in a downtown area, but I do live in the city so there aren’t really any benches around TO lay on.
Sure, but what about those who don’t WANT the housing provided and would rather park their RVs on busy roads making commuting dangerous for themselves and others. And before you say this doesn’t happen let me take some pictures of the highway on my way to work.
I would rather NOT criminalize the down and out, but when they put others in danger it’s a bit of a different story.
To add to what you are saying, I wish they would make that message clearer. The first time I saw it, I thought they were still going to charge me for the extra copy and just not give it to me. Still not 100% sure about it.
I get where you are coming from, but the writer of the story was pointing out that artists should not bandwagon other people. Granted, dude is a terrible writer so I don’t blame anyone for missing the point. Also, the Gordon Ramsey analogy doesn’t quite work as Gordon is only the host of the show and doesn’t actually create it.

I mean, I can see it if it was used as a backup, but yeah, using it as a primary way of communicating with people is kind of weird.
The name REALLY doesn’t help. Like, I know the women there are not under age for the most part because I have seen them around since I was in my 20s, which was 20 years ago. It’s not my thing, but there are people who are attracted to slimmer proportions so whatever. Still, the name makes it sound like it’s a CP false flag site.
Yeah, but some people love unnecessary drama. It’s the reason most social media has gotten where it has. Stupid drama does nothing but stress me out and make me more of a misanthrope so I try to avoid it.

As much as I disagree with him, like a LOT, I do think Nilay from the Verge has a point. It does feel like the “new” internet we have become used to over the years is starting to shift. It feels like people are becoming more and more fed up with social media and want to go back to just hanging out with virtual strangers online. Like, arguing on Twitter with people is all well and good, but it’s also miserable and stressful and it’s been getting worse. Not to mention Elon has no idea what he’s doing. Mark is pivoting away from Boomerbook and Instagram because one isn’t growing and the other is an amalgamation of every other feed based social network, and Reddit is burning down. At this point it was only a matter of time before Corporations set their sight on the Fediverse. Nothing else is working.
The problem with that is that big corporations have no idea why the Fediverse exists and think selling personal data and being free is enough to attract people. Hell, I didn’t even know what the Fediverse was until Reddit immolated itself so I don’t expect your average person to be aware of the inner workings either. That being said it doesn’t take long to realize that the Fediverse is something altogether different once you are a part of it.
There isn’t an algorithm pushing negativity to the top, and each instance is like a person inviting you into their house to stay if you want; as long as you don’t mess up the furniture you are good. At the end of the day you have been allowed in so you should be on your best behavior and follow the rules. You can argue all you want but you are not in control, and if you want control open your own house. Simple as. You can also stroll through the neighborhood if you want as long as a wall hasn’t been built around other houses.
I try, but at this point I think it might be too late. I’ve been on the internet pretty much my whole life and didn’t realize how big of a deal privacy was until I was in my 30s.
Again, we have those places. The people choose not to use them.
