Holy shit.
Not only this is horrifying cause of the threats, it’s also very unsettling that something with such a recipe for disaster would attract so many rubes to be a working business model.

Awesome stuff but here I am with my single mini PC that has Jellyfin and Immich wondering why I would need such a big setup.
At some point I realized that the more complex I make it, the more resources it needs and the more maintenance it needs so I only get things I think I really need.

Isn’t it obvious?
Instead of having government rely on tech companies, it should just build its own solutions.
And those solutions would be open source and use open source dependencies.
It would then have a budget to donate to different projects given that it saves time by using other foss software.
Refusing AI by using an AI generated meme?
But why?

We need a scale for these things now, cause I can’t tell how bad he was given all the stuff we know from the Epstein files.
On the monster end we would have trump and Epstein, probably Weinstein somewhere in the middle. I guess at the other end you have Louis CK?
Is Kevin half a Weinstein or a full one with some Epstein?

but it kinds feels like seeing Christian Bale walk on to an episode of 2 Broke Girls.
Shit, I’d watch that

I think a lot of it is unfortunately tied to how quiet US politics is, when more outrageous things happen, the worse the lemmy experience becomes.
We are just not the type to put our heads in the sand.

This makes me happy

Is there a voyager equivalent for piefed?
I don’t find this hard to believe at all.
Tried to play halo 3 campaign for the first time a little while back.
It really felt aged, like an upgraded ps2 game essentially.
And this was the pc version mind you.

So more stable than windows 11? What happens to the cpu when the moon is full and you click on the start menu?

Turns out turning sunlight into food and then burning it is very inefficient, who could have guessed /s

Ahhh finally 🏴☠️

I agree. That show was a very good insight into rich people and their mentality.
Even though it was hard to watch at times, it was worth the watch cause of the insight.
They truly live in their own bubble that ensures only like minded people stay there
In fact the whole point of the show was how ruthless Logan was and that his children were stuck between a rock and a hard place. They could never leave that life cause they are so used to the luxury, although Connor gave a decent try.
They could also never be as ruthless since they had a decent amount of humanity left.
So even with all their money and luxury, they ended up feeling very unfulfilled and like a failure.

Ironic for a company that recently made Andor.
You might have already heard its praise, but I wanted to add that it’s not just a political thriller, it’s about fascism. More specifically, it’s about the dilemma of doing nothing and pretending everything is fine or doing something even if it means using the tools of your enemy.
Senator Mothma’s speech at the end was creepily relevant, you just need to replace palpatine for another name.

What about a system that works like torrents under the hood and every time you went to watch something you just download it with an expiry date?
You just need a metadata system like lemmy so people can find the videos, and once they decided to watch it, it downloads it for them via the torrent protocol.
The only disadvantage is that it won’t be streaming but let’s be honest, streaming isn’t a huge advantage for shorter clips + high bandwidth (which you need for streaming anyway).
You can also further optimize it by making each video cut into 5 min chunks so you can always download the first one and start watching sooner.
The only drawback, like others mentioned, is that it works best with a savvy user base instead of just spoon feeding you and giving you little control (which apparently people just love these days).
Hahahaha
