I’ve looked at revolt and well, when I tried using it it was filled with less than reputable individuals. I don’t remember specifics but I remember noping the fuck off revolt real quick. If you want text chat, try matrix, if you want voice well, then idk what to say other than discord, team speak or guilded. Guilded is pretty cool, I actually like the client way better than discord but my friends all use discord and guilded isn’t a huge platform. It is backed by the Roblox company so you at least know it’s gonna be supported, but then again, it’s the Roblox company…

It doesn’t need to go back to any era, it just needs to be good. I swear the Bioware hatred over the years could be some kind of case study for the mentally unstable. Everyone got butt-hurt over mass effect 3 and never let Bioware live it down.

They’ve made one absolute shit game in Anthem, and yes I like Andromeda and love inquisition, and all of a sudden they’re the worst company alive. Bungie has had more fuck ups than Bioware and they get a pass every time.

To be fair, if it weren’t for pillars of eternity obsidian wouldn’t be around today. It’s a well known fact they’ve been in the situation of facing a studio closure multiple times. Fergus is well accustomed to these closures from all the way back at black Isle studios and interplay. I would imagine Microsoft is a much more reliable safety net than interplay every was.

This is why every PC should at the very least have a dual boot config these days with a Linux distro. Ubuntu, fedora, mint, pop, mx, it doesn’t matter, take back your PC and have some kind of fallback in case Microsoft fucks your shit up, even Steve from gamers Nexus is considering ditching Windows for their office computers.

Helldivers is a completely different scenario. I’m talking about God of war and ghosts of tsushima and any other game that gets ported over with the requirement from day 1. Helldivers was a screw up, the other games aren’t, and frankly it’s absolutely ridiculous anyone is complaining about it when you have to make accounts for damn near every fucking publisher. How is this different other than the region issues? I’ll give you a hint, it’s not. Pretty sure at this point anyone downvoting me right now is just pissed I’m calling their stupidity out.

This guy uses bots to spams the community with posts that are mostly on Reddit. It’s pretty annoying and when I’ve called them out in the past they claim they don’t use bots but that’s utter bullshit when you’re posting multiple articles every few seconds. The title is probably from the website but yeah I get what you’re saying.

I think it’s a stupid hill to die on. You have EA, Ubisoft, Epic, gog, steam, and even 2k and GTA accounts but this is where you draw the line? Come on, that’s just stupid. I would also point out that those also have games that not only require the associated account but also the associated launcher and for single player games.

I get that there are people that can’t purchase the games due to region restrictions on psn accounts, but this is quite possibly the most hypocritical and idiotic circle jerk I’ve ever seen in PC gaming.

And I’m mulling over never buying any of their games.

What is even going on at Sony right now? They don’t have any games announced for release that look even remotely interesting, and they laid off 8% of their workforce which includes these guys and now they’re standing up a new studio to make the same thing the shutdown studio was making. I have more faith in Sony to make a proper game these days than Microsoft but both companies seem to be struggling. Helldivers 2 is the best game Sony has released this year.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to use some proprietary connector to dock it to an external GPU enclosure on some kind of thunderbolt bus. It’s kind of a Nintendo way of making a series S and series X.

They’re at least being professional about it, they’ve gone through all channels and simply don’t want to disappoint anyone. The difference between this and something like tamriel rebuilt or whatever it’s called is that this one is done, it’s ready to go and they even say it’s ready, but they don’t want it to break after the next gen update. It’ll come out, just have patience.

Basically they pulled skewed and cherry picked metrics showing extremely low Linux activity to justify locking those players out of playing their game. It’s scummy and their “trust me bro” attitude towards vanguard should be concerning more than anything.

What I took away from this article was that there’s a shit load of cheaters in LoL, 15% of ranked matches or something like that had cheaters or smurfs. 1 in 10 games in NA and 1 in 5 matches in Europe is just insane.

Not bad, but it only matters if it stays around after the event is over, which I doubt it will. Love the runeterra universe, but hate league of Legends.

That game is in no way 20-30h…unless you speedrun the main quest and even that’s questionable.

Steam deck is capable of installing apps from all of those stores except obviously Xbox… It’s just an arch Linux desktop. It’s probably the least locked down handheld computer you can buy. Not sure where you’re getting this info that the deck is locked to valve’s ecosystem.

Yeah and I’m pretty sure they already walked that back and decided to stick to Windows.

The goal was to not lock down their hardware to someone else’s operating system, it wasn’t just to sell games on steam. Valve has always been very open about not wanting to be beholden to other corporations for their success and innovation. They realized they could have their own software and hardware platforms that work in tandem more efficiently than slapping windows on the deck due to owning both pieces of that puzzle. Not to mention they were paying modders under the table to help them build dxvk and integrate it into proton.

No other handhelds have adopted it most likely because the drivers aren’t updated for the latest chipsets, which means all efficiency goes out the window (no pun intended). Sure you could probably run the updated Ryzen graphics on SteamOS but it probably wouldn’t benefit the hardware as much as Windows would, considering most power efficiency on Windows is handled more by the OS and not the chipset drivers.

At this point what valve needs to do for more OEM adoption is provide better compatibility for SteamOS’s integrated power management tools and expand the compatibility for SteamOS outside the steam deck hardware. Until that happens these handhelds will just opt for Windows instead because it’s less overhead on the OEM partners.

So this is what it’s come too, licensed games for talented devs, first Insomniac with spider-man and marvel, then Massive with Avatar, now Respawn with Star Wars. I’m sure this game will be good, but I want new IP’s, new worlds to explore and new gameplay ideas.
