  • This is the supported and safest method: a full reinstall of the Operating System.

The unsafe method is for a user modifying their registry while applying an LTSC upgrade patch to 10. Windows is pretty janky so I wouldn’t recommend this.

For anyone affected by this, I recommend backing up all your data anyway. If you’re hard stuck with Windows, pick 10 LTSC and reinstall the OS. You’ll be supported for several more years with security updates. Much better than picking the temporary bandage solution of enrolling in ESU and tackling the problem again next year. If you’re not stuck with Windows, pick a Windows-like and user friendly Linux distribution like Linux Mint and you’ll be good to go. Best onboarding ramp for ex-Windows users that need the familiarity of Windows and want a stable experience that “just works”.

  • My spouse and I were watching the game showcase event and saw this trailer. Couldn’t help but laugh at the overt level of misogyny. Female character models had extreme jiggle physics in tandem with skin tight revealing clothes. I think we saw one straddling a motorcycle and watching her butt ripple everywhere like jello on a trampoline. Male character models had no jiggle physics whatsoever.

  • I’m one of those persons for sure. I love the overall professional setup, but the monitors are way too high and go against recommendations for healthy work ergonomics. This looks like OP’s eyes are lined up with the center of the screen rather than the top of the screen - a common misconception I see lots of persons still do.

Mayo Clinic recommends that for best ergonomics, the top of your monitor’s screen should be lined up with your eye height. This ensures that when you work or game, only your eyes will look down to see the rest of your monitor. Also prevents you from craning and moving your neck constantly to look up at other corners of the monitor. Those constant movements of your neck throughout the day cause strain over time, and certainly compound over the years.

“Place the computer monitor straight in front of you, directly behind your keyboard, about an arm’s length away from your face. The monitor should be no closer to you than 20 inches (about 50 centimeters) and no further away than 40 inches (about 100 centimeters). The top of the screen should be at or slightly below eye level. If you wear bifocals, lower the monitor an additional 1 to 2 inches (about 2 to 5 centimeters) for more comfortable viewing.”

As I get older I’ve been very careful to pay attention to ergonomics. I keep my monitors at arm’s length away and always lined up properly per medical recommendations. I spend most of my day at my desk working or gaming, so I wanted to be as healthy as I could be. Doing this for years now and it’s been great - not as exhausted, no strain, etc.

  • You are correct. My thumb was bleeding so I reached for the first thing I had. I purchased two boxes of generic bandages through a buy one get one sale years ago. It was a good deal.

In 2031 when I have used up the bandages, I will check out gauze and medical tape. I think they may be a more thrifty decision with better results.
