If we had a strong reform minded government, our leaders could oppose these parasites, and then make examples out of those that mistreat our productive companies. I read something about the birth of these private Equity firms sometime in the late 70s or early '80s when a firm bought out this other productive firm and loaded them up with debt, paid themselves every which way they could, sold off any profitable parts of the company, then declared bankruptcy and stiffed everybody else walking away with a boatload of cash, unemployed workforces, and razed Pension funds.

I think all of the Fortune 500 companies have divisions that exploit prison labor.
They also get tax breaks for hiring felons they can pay less and even get reoffended on a whim.
The states get next to nothing either for this prison labor oftentimes, but if we looked at the deciders we would find kickbacks. Sweetheart property deals through proxies, sneaky kickbacks but nothing that could not be recognized as such.

I know when I put burdock root in a ferment which was not barley-based but maple syrup, it had a really good and interesting complex test, maybe not best for maple syrup wine, I know it is pickled in other places of the world like Japan

There have been quite a few other herbs that have been used in Brewing before. Iyy is one from circa 1st millenium, the one that is used in abstinenth has been another.
I have a lot of yarrow growing wild, I think that might even be good. Burdock root has an interesting taste. I am not so delicate that I cannot experiment and not enjoy something that is less than it would be if hops.
So where is one to get good bulk prices on barley or malted barley and hopps?
1.50 a pound for malt is too much. Agric. Feed stores are 20 bucks for 50 lbs but idk if they spray chemicals on that barley.
