MJ12 Detachment Agent
A Deep Medieval Fantasy Gladiator Squad Strategy RPG - Blackthorn Arena Reforged by Splattercatgaming [40 min intro let’s play]
Surprisingly, it sort of work with Midwest 90: Rapid City.
I played an earlier alpha of this. It showed potential but was in an early stage of development. The devs mentioned that they’ve made a lot of changes since then.
I got to say, their world is pretty unique as far as post-apocalyptic settings go. The tower defense x restaurant management gameplay combo is also something you don’t see every day.
I haven’t tried the Megastructure DLC yet, but the base game is awesome if a little challenging and gamey on higher difficulties.
For what it’s worth, their previous “New Frontiers” DLC wasn’t all that impactful (although IMO the price is fair).
ethically sourced generative AI
Fascinating term. It’s like we are living in the future of the 80s scifi novels.
Didn’t notice the the scope to which they use Gen AI. That does change the proposition of the game IMO.
I’ve been meaning to get back to it. Played about ~80 hours till late early access.
It’s a great game with a unique mix of genre and a nice art-style.
I like the styling on this one. Remind me of The Nations; a less well known colony/town builder from the early 2000s.
Tried this in early access, it had potential and it was fun to build out your own Majesty-style town with an inn and shops.
Some part so the game still needed work (too much micro with hero mission management).
I am curious to see how the 1.0 release plays. Will need to try it out.
It did add some challenge, but nothing that you can’t deal with.
My last run was also during the badwater addition. It was a lot of fun, the biggest issue was water management in the late game, this update seems to address a lot of the issues I had.
No, I meant that I missed the word “shop” in the title, I edited it in. :)
Missed the “shop”.
It does look like a compelling gaming experience.
I might try the demo if I have time.
2 years in jail?
I think I am going to stick to the current mini-description format unless it’s a game I’ve already played before (and enjoy). :)
In my country sometimes games are notably cheaper than in EU/North America.
No it is not automated. :)
Depends on your region too, in some places salaries are very low in USD equivalent. But yes $4 USD is pretty cheap.
Somewhat retro graphics, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing (especially if the gameplay is good).
Did not know this was still alive.
I tried the itch.io demo a few months ago (not sure how different this current demo is). I can recommend Iron Village, the demo wasn’t too deep in terms of gameplay, but it was fun and the setting is unique (and it impact gameplay mechanics).
Will need to try this out. I really like the concept, but I always get a bit bored about 3-5 hours into the run. Something about the mid to late game can feel a bit repetitive.
