Yeah, that sucks. They’re the ones that (as adults) carry that red meat allergy thing, right?
Yet another refugee who washed up on the shore after the great Reddit disaster of 2023

Yeah, of you can back it away from the garlic enough. Otherwise it’s too hot.
I’m leaving it
I did roast them with a butane torch and thought that would make the flavor a little milder
That’s your problem. Rotating garlic needs a lower heat than a torch for a longer time.
ARMs are a huge gamble, and anyone choosing one needs to understand that. “The house usually wins” doesn’t mean the house that the homeowner is living in, unfortunately.
Here’s an interesting chart I found:

Very anecdotally, but just from looking around and the people I know, it would look like a bell curve with the peak in the mid 20s (say 25) and a pretty good percentage of them being around eight years either side, and a tiny few further out in both directions.
My coworker who was on that flight was really anxious about it. I was pretty confident that it was just a matter of balancing the load.
In those days I was getting to take the helicopter for a meeting with every other week, and it was always the highlight of the week. Those things are just so damned fun. They can clearly haul a lot more weight than a cab full of people.
I’m old - there’s just so much that has and hasn’t happened…
I didn’t know what they were and had to look it up
The Bell Riots were an event that took place in San Francisco on Earth in September 2024. They led to the end of the Sanctuary Districts and marked the real beginning of Humans working to find a lasting solution that would resolve social problems. This would set humanity on the path to founding the United Federation of Planets.
Hey, the date is coming up.
I used to fly on the company helicopter pretty regularly. It would go around to the different sites in the broader area, picking up and dropping off. One time, we stopped at a site and a very, very large man got in and sat in back on one side. He was about as heavy as you can imagine a person being and still walking around on his own power. The pilot went straight up from the pad a couple hundred feet, played with settings on the stick, dropped maybe twenty feet, played some more, up and down a couple more times, then flew away like normal. I’d never seen them do that before or after. I assume he must have been getting the settings right for the unusually unbalanced load.
If what I’ve read is true, the saddest things about the Shrek movie is that they changed what Fiona was. What I read was that she originally was some other sort of monster, not another ogre - one that Shrek thought was physically unattractive at first. The whole message about a person’s insides being what’s important loses a lot of impact when Fiona is an attractive version of Shrek’s same race/species.
I’m not feeling as charitable as you. The fact that they started with “no offense” tells me they know they’re saying something offensive. I think it’s a way of saying "Sure they’re geographically big, but they don’t contribute as much to the world as western (white?) countries.
What does that question even have to do with the post?
And we’re talking about the African continent. There are 54 African countries/nations. They have a combined GDP of $2.8 trillion USD, similar to France.
I read it earlier this year. Really interesting. Lots of commentary on what it means to have consciousness or intelligence, and on how we’re affected by language and communication. Not sure I’d call it enjoyable though. I’m glad I read it, but I’m not sure I’d put it high on my reread list other than to be able to read the earlier stuff knowing what happens in the later stuff.
What kind of oil/fat are you using?
It’s possible that part of your issue is that you’ve used that metal spatula too much and you’ve scraped off some of the coating so the egg is binding to the pan. Enough fat would help that, but a degraded Teflon pan isn’t something you should be using.
I saw the original thread and was wondering if it used prepared mustard or dry mustard - I had guessed dry. I was also guessing there would be cheese in or on it. Wrong on both counts.
So what did you think? Would you make it again?
Explained for anyone interested
Ugh, I started in the middle of June last year and I have over 3K. Apparently I have no life.
