I feel you. I can’t say I have any feeling towards Bungie either way but this is more than just Bungie, it’s become a market standard and beyond being sickening, it’s very much terrifying for the future of gaming as a whole. I can appreciate amping the indie scene and very much think it’s worth doing but there’s still only ever so much a single talented developer can do (even with their five closest equally-talented friends). I miss the sheer awe of a reveal that only a big budget could achieve from back in the day. Now, whenever I hear about a big trailer release or hosted event from the triple ehh market, I just roll my eyes and wait for the next-day articles or plethora of YT videos covering the highlights.
