Inkarnate is giving away 10-days free Pro membership, so I took the bait and tried it. I decided to use the limited time to bring a very old concept of mine to life, which I originally conceived as a kid in high school. Overall, there’s a lot of improvements to be made (especially since I decided to stick to the original concept as much as possible, which was… not very good to begin with lol), but I had a lot of fun and it allowed me to unwind a bit before going to bed, which was nice.
Not sure if I’ll stick to Inkarnate Pro, however. Inkarnate is good, but it’s web browser-only and subscription-only, which are both dealbreakers for me. I think I’ll try Wonderdraft next!
I prefer wonderdraft. I haven’t made maps for a while but it was my preferred map maker. I also use dungeondraft for my dungeon maps.
I’ve really been enjoying inkarnate but a big thing is that I use it a lot, I think it I had less of a use case for it I wouldn’t be okay paying for it
Yeah, that’s my problem. I tend to hyper-focus on a specific hobby for a few days and then move on to the next one, and maybe get back to the first hobby after a few months or even a year. If I buy things instead of joining a subscription service, I may spend more now, but I’ll end up saving a lot of money down the line.
Hey look, I found my alt account.
I completely love Inkarnate and have made some incredible maps with it.
But its drawbacks, you have accurately stated. I can’t detract from them. But I am a paying user of multiple years.
