Straight line speed is expected to be higher than currently, cornering speed is expected to be slower. And experience from previous regulation changes shows us that usually teams are able to find ways to increase cornering speeds within a few seasons.
So I don’t see an issue.
Some of the F2 races have had great close and side by side action. If we get that in F1 with the new rules then that’s fine. We don’t need faster racing, we want closer racing.
Agreed on the F2 races this year; they’ve had some great ones already. I do want that. But I also want F1 to maintain that “next level” feel from F2 by being much, much faster.
As long as it is more overtaking, I can live with lower acceleration, and cornering speed.
Meh. If we wanted to see speed records, f1 would be racing at the bonnevile salt flats.
