SailfishOS runs Android apps on officially supported devices, and even then, that’s still a compatibility/emulation layer, for the rest of us, Waydroid is the Way to go (pun absolutely intended)

The problem is some apps need attestation, this is notable for some banking apps. Waydroid being an image-based implementation, means you can technically have GApps (or prefferably MicroG) on your Android layer, and that can help in most cases.
