He is inasmuch as he’s pledged loyalty to the man like everyone else around him. The loyalty thing really warps everything in Trump’s orbit to quite an extreme extent. I’ve read a bit on how different Vance was before he started suckling on that rotten mushroom stump. He was always a Republican, but (at least in hindsight) his actions and stances pre-trump seemed like those of someone with something approaching empathy, tolerance, and the possibility of a conscience. Now he is an empty hollowed out husk like all the rest.
