Would I be able to set this as my desktop background with an HTML enabled wallpaper manager?

no, there are calls to the browser to store data and config since it works on the browser. it could be adapted i guess depending on how that other software works for calls to the os. i didnt know that kind of thing existed tho. what software are you using? still, i think it wouldnt be a nice solution since it would likely be chromium browser working to display that, not very efficient.

it could be adapted as a tauri app or self hosted app which could have more features like displaying system info and other stuff. i thought of that but so far havent done it since i want to polish a few more things. plus it wouldnt do much difference to me, maybe with a good backend it’s a little less resource intensive but use wise it’s good for me rn.

I think the Lively wallpaper manager (for WIndows) allows using an HTML page as a wallpaper. I tried for awhile to make the Momentum new tab chrome addon work with it , but that super did not work.

hey, thanks a lot that you liked it! do you mean having cantonese instead of the kanji widget or as a language for the extension? i also been working on it and making it a self hosted app which should make things a bit faster and what not, although it requires installation. this version should have a few more niceties like being able to do crazier setups and stuff. this is how it currently looks:

I was thinking for the whole thing in canto, widget and labels. Maybe others would like Thai at some point … It’s very niche anyway, don’t sweat it. I like current design, it’s aerated enough and blends well with the background I think. Very happy to see that there’s more to come, I can’t wait !

i’ll add a better integration for translations and i can use a translator for cantonese since i don’t speak it myself, i’d appreciate if you could take a look when it’s done to see if the translation is correct. i can help you install the new app if you have any issues.

I also cannot speak it (hence the interest), but maybe I can get some help to check the translation. Hit me up when you’re ready
