And I notice a thing that I miss with a lot of newer material is a certain degree of rawness. In production, execution,…
Something about those slight tempo variations that you just can’t program into a click track spontaneously gives it that extra bit of bite to me.
And even a certain amount of sloppiness in playing sometimes. If it’s not too much I find it a plus for some styles.
So if you know any bands or albums that really stand out to scratch that itch, please share.

There was a Norweigan black/thrash band that channels a lot of Kreator in their vibe that you might enjoy: they’re called Byfrost. Check out their “Black Earth” and “Of Death” albums.
