Another example of how metal can be blended with damn near everything and end up more metal than it started back in my salad days

      Aw, man, there are some really great bands like this out there, it’s just hard to find it online. Like, there’s this Nigerian band called something like yorubande, I’ve never actually seen anything with their name written. But there’s a guy that has a burnt CD of theirs that he plays in the store he owns, when he’s stocking. Some of the most balls out, brutal bass and guitar I’ve ever heard. Just reaches into your guts, pulls them out and slaps you with them.

      But they have zero online presence, no marketing, nothing. They just record their stuff on something like a 4 track machine in one take, and make their own CDs and tapes. They sell that at shows, and that’s it. If you don’t run into it like I did, from someone that goes to Nigeria, you’d never know they exist.

      There’s a whole African metal scene that’s practically unknown outside of Africa, but it’s slowly making it’s way onto YouTube, tiktok and the like.
