    How can they lock you out of your finance files?

    Even if they shut down your iCloud, wouldn’t you still have a local copy on your computer (and perhaps another one your phone)?

      If you have the file on all your devices, and all of them are apple devices, and they lock down your apple account, then you lose access to all of your devices, and to all the data on them.

      Do not put all your eggs in one basket.

      Collateral: if you self-host everything, then that is also only one basket.

      Always be careful and have more than one avenue.
