Summary: A major brick-and-mortar store sold an Apple Gift Card that Apple seemingly took offence to, and locked out my entire Apple ID, effectively bricking my devices and my iCloud Account, Apple Developer ID, and everything associated with it, and I have no recourse. Can you help? Email paris AT paris.id.au (and read on for the details). ❤️
Here’s how Apple “Permanently” locked my Apple ID.
I am writing this as a desperate measure.
Never… NEVER work and personal with the same account. It’s a pain to have separate accounts, but this makes it so much more worth it. If they got mad at the personal account, that’s losing photos and other connection pieces but the work account (DEV account) still can make money. If it’s the DEV account, your personal still works and you don’t lose all of the personal connections but hopefully you’re working under an LLC or other entity that has the ability to have some legal push back when needed. Not always, but sometimes, businesses don’t want to mess with other businesses but they’ll punch “Steve” in the mouth.
Also making a professional account for all your work stuff might be necessary because business entities have more rights than human beings do now ._. and if one business is banned, a novel and unconnected business can be created, that is no longer subject to the prior business’ ban because it is a legally distinct entity…
