Hey, Stuart Little 2 for the PS1 is a surprisingly good 3D platformer.

5·1 month agoI considered making a !FloatingIsFun@fedia.io post for this, but these were used for war, not fun. It sure was creative, so I’m tagging this as #balloons anyway.

I found Bang Bang on Richard Pace’s TeePublic store. That took me way longer than it should. It’s been stolen multiple times already on other T-shirt shops.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•Starlight Spotlight: A Hospital Wii in a New LightEnglish
4·3 months agoThat’s really cool! Nintendo of America worked with this charity to modify Wii dev kits with 160GB hard drives and Bluetooth over wires! They’ve been doing this together from the N64 to the Switch Lite. I wonder if I can get involved in Streamers vs Everybody and raise money for the Starlight Foundation.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•What are some of your favorite Master System memories?English
2·4 months ago
In 2007, I got my first Master System, the Coleco Handheld Electronic Games. I liked it a lot! It was a solid little bar of soap handheld with a tiny screen that made Fantasy Zone look great. I liked playing Aztec Adventure and throwing money at my problems. I eventually got a normal Master System and banged my head on Wonder Boy in Monster Land for a while.
This is for !retrocomputing@lemmy.sdf.org . You install this in a retro PC where a physical drive would go. Your retro PC thinks your disk images are actual disks, and everything else works like it used to. It’s a nice quality-of-life improvement.
Retro game consoles have been doing this for a while. The Sega Dreamcast’s GD-ROM drive is prone to failure, so modders replace it with hardware that loads disk images. I haven’t heard of this for retro PCs before, but it makes sense.
