The counter strike twitter has been pulling this shit for a while ever since source 2 rumors started picking up steam so I wouldn’t get my hopes up
Telegram channels are your best bet. Something like STL Forest or STLworld should have what you need
Summer 2023 in the southern hemisphere maybe? I guess they can still technically hit that summer timeframe within the next 3 weeks.
we didn’t ‘sell’ the monoblock, but rather auctioned it for charity due to a miscommunication
I don’t think you’re making the point you think you’re making
I mostly picked it back up to have access to the PoGo exclusive shinies (Mew, Jirachi, Meltan/Melmetal, Genesect and Deoxys) but I just spoof instead (trying to play in negative temps outside of a city is no fun) and just trade cool stuff to friends (who live in different places so I can’t even trade with them legitimately if I wanted to).
Another example of bullshit is the PAID shiny Mew ticket. Even after you pay for it you still need to complete a potentially ridiculous requirement of completing the kanto dex. Which would be fine if they didn’t geolock Kangaskhan to Australia (outside of events in the past?) so you would be shit out of luck if you didn’t either already have one or knew someone you can meet up with in real life that did.
As for your 2016 mons, the first 9 or so you trade will be guaranteed to be lucky meaning an IV floor of 12/12/12 or 80% (and half stardust cost) so you would ideally trade them for something strong and/or shiny like a shiny legendary or strong mega/dragon/top within its type pokemon. All 2016 pokemon have like a 75% of making a trade lucky so they’re all valuable. Another trick to get people to nag their friends and family to start playing again.
I played in 2016 and started playing again in 2023 and I was surprised at how little had changed but its par for the course for the pokemon franchise.
Almost all your other grievances are partly due to how mobile games are monetized and how much of it relies on fear of missing out (applies to regular pokemon events too). Pokemon Go is a constant stream of FOMO to try and get you to spend money when there’s barely any payoff. A pokemon you can catch in the wild can already be 87% of the way to a perfect pokemon you spend months (years?) getting stardust, candy and XL candy to max out.
My 2012 laptop runs windows 10 perfectly fine and has the latest security updates. We’re way past the point of using hardware limitations as an excuse for companies to drop support early.
I don’t see why a school should have to replace their basic computers with an equally basic computer after 3 years unless it’s broken beyond repair. I don’t think the OS itself is doing much more than what an enterprise copy of windows does for security.
CSGO can be pretty toxic but I’m glad I don’t have other reference points to compare it to tbh.
Just plugging the Fallout community !fallout@lemmy.world
Legends arceus is the best pokemon experience in my opinion as someone who’s played all games and most spinoffs. However, the other switch games don’t stand out as much (Let’s go is fun for gen 1 nostalgia but the diamond/pearl remake is very basic) so a 3DS is better “value”. That being said, only get a 3DS if you wanna mod it to pirate the games because used pokemon prices are completely insane these days and its nintendo so ¯\(ツ)/¯
You can also play legends arceus and the other Switch games on PC via emulator. Same with 3DS but the actual hardware is a much nicer experience for obvious reasons. If you go with Switch then I suggest Arceus and Let’s Go and if you go with 3DS I would suggest Black/White (and BW2 if you enjoy the first game) and, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and Ultra Sun/Moon (they also all have ROM hacks for difficulty/extra mons).
Sure, but I don’t think it has to be a subscription nag. They’re free to monetize as they wish but I don’t have to use it either when non-subscription alternatives exist.
I set this up and like the UI but it does that stuff where it says things like “Hey you have duplicates do you want to remove them? Oops sorry you gotta pay for that” and “Hey we noticed you’re using a adblocker”. Everything has to be a subscription service these days.
Pirates are used to migrating en masse
I’ve curated a list based on my own preferences. A couple caveats are that I haven’t played most of them, some stuff like DBZ and Yugioh are whatever if you’re not into those franchises and some stuff has better ports elsewhere and isnt included: https://pastebin.com/Fv2RtN61
