Tycoon Games@lemmy.world•Sorry, why did nobody tell me that 'Fallout but trucking', [Dustland Delivery], exists and is about to come to consoles after a year of 88% positive reviews on Steam?English
4·1 day agoIt’s fundamentally a trading business sim as bigboissmith mentioned. That being said, there is a lot of other things going on.

12·1 day agoThis is a very good game, I’ve played for a few hours and I’ve been meaning to get back into it.

Citybuilders@sh.itjust.works•Solargene, a space colony-builder where you can expand on the planets and moons of the solar system (including space stations), with complex, modular building mechanics (with support for Z levels) relEnglish
2·3 days agoThis looks really good. Feel like something beyond your run of the mill space colony builder. A complex building system in 3D (with both land colonies and space stations) and it also seems to have additional strategic layer.
Reminds of a cross between Planetbase and the old school Moon Tycoon. I think this could give Planetbase 2 a run for its money.

Citybuilders@sh.itjust.works•Earth of Oryn, a medieval city-builder, with construction gameplay/perspective inspired by Roller Coaster tycoon and a modular building construction system released in early access on SteamEnglish
1·4 days agoI actually backed the Kickstarter for this game. Looking forward to checking out. Love the modular building concept, they really should add Steam workshop/modding support. Just look at the selection of custom buildings in Parkitect; you have so many rides and every type of utility building in multiple styles.

Tycoon Games@lemmy.world•From the devs of Minami Lane, their next game Milki Delivery is a cosy delivery gameEnglish
3·4 days agoI normally prefer complex and long economic strategy games (Transport Fever, Project Highrise), but I enjoyed Minami Lane. It was a good pick up and play experience.

1·7 days agoThis reminds of the overworld in Hammerting (a good game that unfortunately didn’t reach it’s full potential, I got my monmey’s worth for it though).

1·8 days agoThat’s true, but I think we need to move beyond half measures and in a way, now is the perfect time to do this.

1·8 days agoI do not really consider Android to be “Linux” (in terms of what it stands for). It’s a proprietary operating system from Google that uses an open source kernel.

7·9 days agoLooks this only has 2GB RAM, that’s more than enough for a DIY homeserver, but if you’re going to actually use the GPU, 2 GB RAM might create significant bottlenecks.

There are no real gaming or device or brand communities.
Some relatively active (in terms of posts, breadth of content and user engagement) gaming communities across Lemmy/Threadi:

Waiting in my instance to update to Piefed 1.4, I will add World of JRPGs to the sidebar once that happens.
Shameless plug.
If you are into computer RPGs (CRPGs), we have a relatively active community:
The JRPG community is also pretty active:

1·16 days agoI would be happy to, but it’s currently not an option for desktop/laptop.
Would be great for an SBC where the OS and apps are open source and performance is less of an issue.
ARM has all the same drawbacks as x86 and it’s not a Deus Ex machina that gives high performance at low power consumption because of magic.

11·16 days agoI wonder if in the future this sort of functionality would become common place.
I could actually see this being useful in some complex strategy / business sims for querying more convoluted or unintuitive gameplay mechanic. But it would have been done well, more of a dynamic Wiki query tool powered by a local LLM than Sony’s approach.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Gamers desert Intel in droves, as Steam share plummets from 81% to 55.6% in just five yearsEnglish
1·16 days agoWhy though? X Elite lags x86 on battery life, performance and compatibility (and you can’t really run Linux on X Elite).
I am not a fan of Intel, AMD, Nvidia, but what’s the point of moving to ARM for the sake of moving?
Unlike most, I actually have been running ARM on home server for almost a decade. For that use case it makes sense because it’s cheap and well supported.

Knights and Merchants! It’s been so long since I played it.
Thanks for sharing!
